SkyslicePrivacy Policy
Skyslice is built to know as little about you as possible. There are no accounts, no ads, and no analytics or tracking tools in the app.
What stays on your iPhone
Your routes, recent routes, personal minimums, chosen runways and settings are stored only on your device. We never receive them as a profile of you.
What the app sends to our servers
To draw the weather, the app asks our server (api.skyslice.cloudytuesdays.com) for the forecast along a route. Each request contains:
- the route as map points (from your departure and destination airports), the forecast time and the corridor width;
- for airport weather, the airport identifiers;
- a security token from Apple's App Attest, which proves the request comes from a genuine copy of the app. It is tied to this install of the app, not to your name, Apple Account or device identity.
We do not ask for or receive your name, email, location, contacts or Apple Account.
What we keep, and for how long
- Service logs record technical details such as route length, response status and timing, for 14 days. They do not include your IP address or the route's coordinates.
- Daily usage counters, keyed to the app install's security token, limit how many routes one install can request per day. They expire automatically after two days.
- Your IP address is used, in hashed form and only in memory, to rate-limit sign-in attempts. It is never written to logs or storage.
- Ground and weather data built for a route (terrain, imagery and forecast slices) may be cached so the next pilot flying a similar route gets it faster. The cache holds map data only and is not linked to you.
Purchases
Skyslice Pro is sold by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles payment; we never see your payment details. The app checks your subscription status with Apple on your device.
Service providers
Our servers run on Amazon Web Services in the United States. Weather and terrain data come from public sources (NOAA, aviationweather.gov, USGS, USDA); our servers fetch it, and your device does not contact those sources.
Children
Skyslice is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices
Because we do not keep a profile of you, there is nothing to download or delete on our side beyond the short-lived records above. Deleting the app removes everything stored on your iPhone. Questions or requests: help@cloudytuesdays.com.
