Where does the weather come from?

From NOAA's High-Resolution Rapid Refresh (HRRR), a 3 km forecast model updated every hour. Airport observations (METAR and TAF) come from aviationweather.gov. Terrain is USGS 3DEP and imagery is USDA NAIP.

Where does it work?

The contiguous United States, where HRRR has coverage.

How fresh is it?

The header shows the model run and its age, for example "HRRR 15Z · 22 min ago". If the data gets old, Skyslice warns you and offers to refresh.

How do I bring in a route from ForeFlight?

In ForeFlight, share or export the route as a flight plan (.fpl) file and choose Skyslice. You can also tap the airport codes in Skyslice and search, paste a route like "KMRY KSMF", or pick a recent one.

Why is a runway different from the one I was given?

Skyslice picks the runway with the least crosswind. Tap the runway chip to choose the one ATC assigned; your minimums are checked against it.

Is it safe to fly based on Skyslice?

Skyslice helps you understand the forecast; it doesn't make the decision. It is not an official briefing and not for navigation. See the Terms.
